The Amazing Solar Toothbrush That Cleans Teeth And Cures Bad Breath
By Nat Jay
If this sounds like the title from a 1950's DC comic book, well, you are both partially right and would well be forgiven for thinking so. Fact is, scientists around the world do come up with inventions that warrant these kinds of headlines. It says a lot about comic books and scientists, but that's besides the point.
The point is, if you thought an electric toothbrush was the ultimate answer to a wholesome, scientifically accurate and 'lazy' brushing experience, then hear this out: Scientists in Japan came up with something that uses just LIGHT to clean your teeth -- They call it a "solar toothbrush" that works through an ingenious, energy-saving and environmentally-friendly photochemical reaction. And the best thing about it is, it does all its cleaning without requiring either water or toothpaste!
Talk about a high tech cure for lazy mornings and bad breath!
It's been clinically tested and approved in both Japan and Canada to give the kind of cleaning experience that no toothpaste, toothbrush, mint or spray on the planet can give. It cleans your teeth thoroughly and produces a sense of freshness and zing in your mouth that feels (quite unusually) clean to the T.
It's actually NOT unusual that the Japanese chose light as the basis of their cleaning technology -- Light has been scientifically proven and known for centuries to be an effective destroyer of germs. (If you've ever focused the sun's rays through a magnifying lens onto a sheet of paper or a patch of dry grass, you'll know what I'm talking about).
It's reported that the solar toothbrush offers a near-permanent cure for oral ailments -- including gingivitis, tartar and plaque, bad breath and tooth decay.
And the fact that the whole mechanism is hands-free makes it even more attractive to those who hate trudging to the bathroom at 6 in the morning and hunting for your toothbrush, groping for the toothpaste, and beginning the routine of the day. How boring!
Imagine just plugging the solar toothbrush in your mouth and going back to sleep while it does its job -- though I wouldn't recommend you actually go to sleep! And the fact is, unlike your normal toothbrush that needs replacing every 3-4 months, the solar toothbrush needs no replacing. The main body never wears out, and the only thing you need to replace is the brush head -- that too only once every 6 months or so. And they're dirt cheap; the cost of your regular toothbrush.
